For as long as he can remember, Thabani Zungu has had a passion for investment banking. His vision as RMB’s Co-Head of Credit is to transform the bank’s credit function into a digitally relevant business offering for clients and stakeholders.
Thabani holds a BCom (Accountancy) degree from UKZN. After completing his articles at Deloitte’s in Durban, he joined RMB in 2010 as Corporate Credit Analyst in the Public Sector, Automotive and Logistics team. In 2013 he became a team leader and a rotational member of the Corporate and Investment Banking Credit Committee. In 2017 he became Co-Head of Corporate Credit, and additionally became responsible for the Public Sector portfolio. In December 2019, he became the Head of Domestic Credit.
Thabani’s vision is to create a fulfilling and rewarding environment for the people within the Credit team, delivering a superior service to the bank’s clients and other stakeholders. He also wants to transform Credit into a digitally relevant business offering.
He believes that RMB needs an unwavering focus on people and their wellness, as well as client centricity.
Thabani is an avid traveller and enjoys exploring different cultures around the world and hidden gems in South Africa.
