Top employer accolade for RMB SA and Nigeria
RMB has been recognised as one of South Africa’s Top Employers for 2025 by the Top Employers Institute, a global authority on certifying excellence in employee conditions. The certification process involved a rigorous, independent evaluation of RMB’s people strategies, organisational values, and practices across the hire-to-retire value chain.
This year’s recognition is particularly significant, as RMB has been ranked number one in the Financial Services sector in South Africa and, for the first time, secured a spot among the top 20 companies. RMB Nigeria has also earned the prestigious Top Employer certification, marking a first-ever achievement for our broader Africa portfolio, highlighting our commitment to our people across all jurisdictions.
Since first participating in the Top Employers certification process in 2020, RMB has shown consistent year-on-year improvement in our results. This year, notable improvements were made in the areas of employee attraction, engagement, and development. This aligns closely with our EVP and strategic focus areas, which aim to attract, develop and retain the best talent, while providing an empowering environment that offers opportunities for learning, growth and career progression.
Reflecting on this achievement, Nomza Makubalo, RMB Chief People Officer, said: “Our people are key to our success as a business. This certification is testament to our ongoing partnership with our people to create a workplace environment that makes us an employer of choice across our jurisdictions. Aligned to our purpose of empowering our people and clients to be exceptional together for all to thrive, we remain deeply committed to enable our people, to serve our clients and society with distinction.”
Bayo Ajayi, CEO of RMB Nigeria, added: “We are honoured to be recognised as a top employer in Nigeria. This certification reflects our commitment to fostering a supportive and empowering culture for our people. We believe that investing in our people is key to driving innovation and delivering growth, and we will continue to prioritise their success.”
This recognition by the Top Employer’s Institute reflects our focus to unlock our people’s full potential and our dedication to foster a culture where our people can thrive and contribute to the success of our business and to society.
