RMB Wins Prestigious Best Trade Finance Bank in South Africa Award for the Sixth Consecutive Year
RMB is proud to announce that we’ve being named the Best Trade Finance Bank in South Africa for the sixth consecutive year and in Zambia for the third consecutive year by Global Trade Review (GTR).
This recognition underlines our continued leadership and innovation in the trade finance sector, with our commitment to delivering tailored financial solutions that help our clients navigate complex and uncertain markets.
At the core of our success is our commitment to digitisation, innovative structuring, and sustainability-focused solutions, with our Trade Finance team implementing numerous pioneering initiatives over the past year to support our clients in navigating a rapidly changing economic environment.
One such initiative was our milestone partnership with the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), a member of the World Bank, to provide short-term funding support to the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire. This first-of-its-kind facility won the GTR Deal of the Year 2024.
We also structured and arranged a multi-million Rand green working capital solution for a leading distributor of renewable energy products across South Africa. This funding package will support off-grid technology solutions and contribute towards South Africa’s renewable energy goals, aligning with our commitment to environmental sustainability.
RMB continues to be a leader in Supply Chain Finance (SCF), where businesses can access liquidity faster through a digitally enabled platform.
Our strategy of meeting clients where they are, through the adoption of cutting-edge technology, has allowed us to integrate fintech solutions into the trade finance ecosystem. These partnerships enable us to adopt technology more efficiently, providing our clients with seamless and scalable solutions.
To further our drive to optimise clients operating cash conversion cycles, the Trade and Working Capital team has been incorporated into the Trade and Treasury Solutions (TTS) division. This move will allow us to integrate the short-term lending and trade businesses with other core product offerings, such as Transaction Banking and Payments, delivering more comprehensive solutions to our clients.
“This prestigious award is a testament to our commitment to excellence, innovation, and client-centricity. We remain focused on driving future growth, supporting our clients, and leading the charge in the development of sustainable and impactful trade finance solutions across Africa,” says Louis Du Plessis, Trade and Working Capital Head at RMB Treasury and Trade Solutions.
